Values and Ethos

Swannington C of E School Values and Ethos

We are committed to developing our children to be happy, well rounded individuals who have a love of learning through which they achieve and progress well. We want them to follow Christian values, entering into the ever changing wider world as:

• happy and positive individuals
• responsible citizens able to make a positive contribution
• life long, safe and healthy learners

The whole community is committed to these core values which help us to deliver the vision statement.

• Friendship and belonging
• Respect
• Enjoyment

Everyone at Swannington C of E School is committed to the same values.

The children, staff, parents, governors and wider community have agreed behaviours which will support and underpin the values.

Behaviours which we agree underpin friendship and belonging;
- being generous
- caring for others
- being forgiving
- trusting others

Behaviours which we agree underpin respect;
- being on time for school and being collected from school on time
- treating others as you wish to be treated
- being honest and never covering up the truth
- looking after school and other peoples property
- listening carefully when other people are speaking
- always trying hard to improve

Behaviours which underpin enjoyment;
- working together and sharing
- always trying your best
- being kind to others
- challenging yourself to improve
- believing in yourself and others

Happy children, successful learners.
